Summer or Fall at Assumption’s Rome Campus: Apply Today!

A number of students have settled into Villino Dufault, their home for the next few months as they begin an exciting spring semester studying, and living in Rome.

Applications are now being accepted for the summer ’18 session and fall ’18 semester at the Rome Campus.

Imagine exploring some of Rome’s historic art museums and galleries as part of a class, or touring the Colosseum rather than sitting at a desk in a classroom. When not studying, picture yourself--like many Assumption students before you—visiting a local café for morning cappuccino or afternoon espresso, or enjoying authentic gelato or the occasional late-night dinner in Campo de’ Fiori.  If you can imagine yourself living and learning in the birthplace of the Western Civilization (and the world’s finest gelato!), then the summer program or fall semester at the Assumption College Rome, Italy, campus is for you.

Applications are now being accepted for the exciting four-week summer program and fall 2018 semester at Assumption's Rome campus. Given a recent surge in applications to the programs, students who wish to take advantage are encouraged to begin the application process as soon as possible. No prior knowledge of Italian is necessary for the summer or fall programs. The deadline to apply for the summer program is March 15 and April 15 for the fall semester.

SUMMER: June 29 to July 27

With the added benefit of taking two classes for the price of one - including a weekend excursion to the Renaissance City of Florence - Rome and Tuscany  become the classroom as students walk the same streets as the emperors and gladiators did thousands of years ago.

The program fee includes two, three-credit courses; lodging at the recently renovated Villino Dufault (Assumption's Rome Campus) in an authentic Roman residential neighborhood with easy access to public transportation; all breakfasts and dinners prepared by an Italian chef; and transportation to and from Fiumicino International Airport. Students are also provided public transportation passes to travel throughout the city for classes or on their own for independent exploration. (Airfare is extra, however the College is negotiating a competitive group rate.)

Imagine spending three months living, learning and exploring the birthplace of Western Civilization with three weekend excursions (included in tuition) to locales such as Capri, Florence, Venice, Naples or le Cinque Terre. The fall semester offers a full semester load of classes - all of which count towards graduation requirements - many of which take place throughout Rome and Italy.

When not studying, students often discuss their classwork over espresso or gelato in local cafes. During meals prepare by Signora Romanini, Villino Dufault's authentic Italian chef, students learn how to navigate their way through the Italian way of life in preparation for the weekend excursions and other exploration throughout Rome. And remember, students’ financial aid follows them to the Rome campus.
